Call for papers The 11th European Conference on Facial
Expression |
Durham (England) will host the 11th biannual conference of the International Society for Facial Expression - Measurement and Meaning. The conference provides researchers with an interest in the analysis of facial expression the opportunity to come together; topics include the measurement of facial expression and in more recent years have included discussions and presentations on the perception of facial expression.
The scientific programme committee would welcome proposals you may have for symposia sessions, paper presentations, and poster presentations considering the conference's theme. Submissions to the conference are welcomed through the conference website http://face.dur.ac.uk/facs2005.
Durham, the home of the medieval Prince Bishops, is a small, yet beautiful city, with all locations accessible on foot. The city contains the third oldest university in England, a 900 year old cathedral, said to be the finest example of Norman architecture in England (and site of the Harry Potter movies), and a 13th century castle. The vicinity of the cathedral and castle has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Conference Dinner on the 15th will be a banquet in the renowned Lumley Castle near by.
The local airports (Newcastle and Teeside) have direct flights from many European cities including London, Amsterdam and Paris. Durham railway station is on the main line linking London (three hours) to Edinburgh (two hours) by rail.
